The Blend Retreat 2014 gathered friends and bloggers in Park City, Utah for a fantastic weekend of bonding, blogging and getting to know one another. I was privileged to attend Blend on behalf of Balance Bar®, who recognizes the importance that Blend and the attendees put on healthy eating and fitness.
Lucky for me and my fellow “Blend-ers,” Balance Bar® stocked me with plenty of bars before I left. They were perfect for mid-day snacks or morning fuel before an exhausting session of boot camp. We were a diverse mix of runners, yogis, swimmers and health nuts—but everyone agreed that the 40-30-30 ratio (40% carbohydrates, 30% protein, 30% dietary fat) in every Balance Bar® gave them the sustained, balanced energy they were looking for. I was excited to introduce some flavors even I hadn’t tried to the group – including Mocha chip and S’mores – which were definitely group favorites! There’s just something about S’mores that people fall in love with!
Each day of the retreat started with some form of exercise. First it was a trail run, then boot camp, then another boot camp style class. Because these classes were so challenging, it was great to have the support and encouragement of the other attendees. Every person I met was warm, welcoming and more than willing to share their personal fitness and healthy eating tips.
Blend not only gave me the opportunity to connect with other healthy living bloggers, but it also helped boost my confidence to set higher fitness goals. I came back from Blend ready to tackle new challenges and share new experiences with my readers. Overall, there’s nothing better than spending some time in the beautiful mountains of Utah with an inspiring group of women.
