4 Healthy Habits to Live By
If your New Year’s health resolutions have gone by the wayside, you are not alone. In fact, research shows that only about 10% of people stick to what they start on January 1st. The good news is, you can always get back on track, and National Nutrition Month® is the perfect time to “Go Further with Food” and inspire healthy habits for the whole family. Read on for tips you can start implementing today.

1. Eat before you get “hangry,” and keep nutritious snacks within reach. Once hunger pains hit, you’re more likely to overindulge and succumb to unhealthy cravings. 
2. Treat yourself to the occasional “cheat meal,” but add something healthy to the mix. Order the burger, but swap the fries for a side salad. Enjoy a bowl of mac and cheese, but add fresh veggies to your recipe. Balance is key!   
3. Plan your family’s meals and shop for the ingredients in advance. Having everything on hand will help deter you from pulling into a drive-through on your way home. 
4. Make exercise part of your routine, and team up with a friend or family member to help you stay motivated. An accountability partner will make a big difference on the days you’re tempted to skip a workout.
