Balance Bar® Innovates with Introduction of Balance Bites Pop-able Snacks

A first for the nutritious snack category, bites are gluten-free, non-GMO and less than 200 calories per serving for on-the-go snacking

RONKONKOMA, N.Y., April 28, 2015 – Balance Bar®, maker of one of America’s original nutrition energy bars, today announced its new Balance bites line. A first for the Balance Bar portfolio and the nutritious snack category, Balance bites are delicious, protein-packed, pop-able snack bites with a crunch – perfect for grab-and-go munching. Available in two flavors, chocolate and peanut butter, bites will be available in single-serve pouches that are 190 calories, have 13 grams of protein, and are gluten-free and non-GMO.

Balance bites feature Balance Bar’s 40-30-30 nutrition principle, which was developed by scientists to help satisfy hunger through a formulation where 40% of calories come from carbohydrates, 30% from protein and 30% from dietary fat. Perfect for an on-the-go afternoon snack or a wholesome addition to your breakfast mixed into Greek yogurt, you can feel confident making bites a part of your nutritious diet.

“With 66% of consumers snacking to satisfy a craving, and 44% snacking on-the-go*, it’s important to create products that deliver on flavor, nutrition and convenience,” said Bradley Charron, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Balance Bar. ”Balance bites are a delicious, fresh addition to the category, answering consumer demand for a product that’s nutritious and perfect for busy, on-the-go lifestyles. It is an exciting time for Balance Bar as we continue to transform smart snacking.”

Balance bites will be available at retailers in late-Spring with an MSRP of $1.79 per bag. For more information about Balance bites, or other Balance Bar products, please visit

About Balance Bar®
