"Your Time"

Have you been finding it difficult to fit exercise into your daily schedule? Are you busy with family, work, projects and friends and becoming frustrated that your fitness is being neglected? It’s time for a personal time-management update.

We recommend personal time-management updates for clients who complain they have no time to exercise or eat right. It’s not about not having time to exercise or eat balanced - it’s about making the time.

Sit down, relax and think through your entire daily routine – where time is spent efficiently and where time is wasted. Then, grab a sheet of paper, title it “My Personal Time-Management Update” and list your personal priorities at the top of the page. List the hours of your day down the left-hand side and begin by filling in your entire day. Include time spent eating, working, family time, errands, etc. and exercise. Think of exercise as “your time” – that special time you devote to improving your mental and physical health – and include it daily.

By simply setting specific personal goals, planning out your day, prioritizing and allocating time, you’ll also become motivated. Motivation is a key to reaching any goal you set.

So when a busy schedule becomes an excuse for lack of exercise, a personal time-management update may be just the thing to get you back on the road to achieving your exercise daily victories.
